From landing to table

  1. Land at SZP

One runway, 04/22, and no tower: talk on CTAF 122.9. The pattern is non-standard, so read the airport’s pattern page before you go.

  2. Park

Pilots fly in free. Park in transient parking directly in front of the restaurant, the row closest to the taxiway. Self-serve 100LL is there 24 hours.

  3. Walk over

The Flying Spoon is right there: walk straight over from your plane.

  4. Sit down

Breakfast, lunch or dinner, with beer and wine at the bar. Yes, the “$100” smash burger is on the menu. Weekends bring the most pilots.

First Sundays at the airport

On the first Sunday of each month, Santa Paula Airport has a day of its own: the Aviation Museum of Santa Paula opens to the public, a small makers market comes in, and the Young Eagles give kids free airplane rides (weather permitting; age limits apply).

It isn’t our event, and we’re not part of the museum. We keep our usual hours, so come for coffee or breakfast before you walk the hangars.

Next: Sunday, December 6. The cafe is open 8am–9pm.

Driving over

There’s a large parking lot attached to the restaurant, at 824 East Santa Maria Street. Directions from Ventura, Ojai, Fillmore and Camarillo are on the contact page.
